Maya Shipman, professionally known as Suzi Analogue, is a multifaceted artist, educator, and cultural leader whose work intersects music, technology, and community engagement. Her creative practice centers on electronic music performance, composition, and cultural storytelling rooted in Afro-diasporic and Indigenous traditions.

As a university professor and ensemble director founding University Of North Carolina’s 1st Hip Hop Ensemble,  she has developed innovative approaches to music education, guiding students in performance, production, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Through her leadership, she has helped shape new frameworks for studying and performing hip-hop and electronic music in academic spaces and beyond.

Suzi is the founder of Never Normal Records, an independent label and creative platform that champions experimental sound and archives emerging musical movements. Her artistic output spans production, songwriting, and sound design, blending analog and digital techniques to push the boundaries of contemporary music.

An active member of the Recording Academy, she is recognized as a pioneering voice among women in electronic music. Her work has appeared in diverse cultural arenas—from global music charts on Billboard and New York Fashion Week fashion runways to international media platforms and art spaces—demonstrating her broad artistic reach.

With performances and projects spanning multiple continents, Suzi continues to foster cross-cultural exchange and creative empowerment. Her work bridges artistic innovation with cultural preservation, using sound as a tool for global connection and transformation.
