Julia Beebe graduated from Indiana University South Bend’s Ernestine M. Raclin School of the Arts in December 2015, earning a Bachelor of Music degree in viola performance. Over her 4 years there, she worked closely with the members of the Euclid Quartet, studying viola under Luis Vargas. In her junior year, Julia was given the wonderful opportunity to study abroad in Northern Ireland for a semester. While there, she toured the continent and performed a viola solo with the University of Ulster choir. Julia started studying violin through the Suzuki method at age 6, and at age 14 added the viola, since she loves the lower register. Through the Suzuki School of Granger, Julia was fortunate enough to join the Silver Strings Quartet at age 11, and stayed with the quartet for 7 years. The quartet won the Geoffrey Prize from the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition in 2009. Julia began teaching privately during her freshman year of college. Her students find her approachable and outgoing. She fell in love with Colorado while at Rocky Ridge’s Young Artist Seminar over the summer of 2015, and is looking forward to doing more hiking and biking in beautiful Colorado.
