Arlene Patterson, Admissions Director at Rocky Ridge Music Center, graduated from Hamilton College of Education (Scotland), with a Diploma in Primary Education and taught as an elementary school classroom teacher in Glasgow and Edinburgh.

Upon emigrating to America, she earned an undergraduate degree in Music Education from The University of Michigan and went on to receive her Masters in Education from Lesley University, with a concentration on Howard Gardner’s theory of multiple intelligences.  She studied Suzuki violin teacher training with Ellie Albers-LeRoux, and since retiring from public school education, enjoys teaching violin students in her home studio.

Her love of traditional music and a passion for life long learning prompted Arlene to found Rocky Mountain Fiddle Club in 2013.  This intergenerational group meets each month to teach and share music, welcoming all instruments, all ages, all stages. The club has a strong community focus with regular outreach performances up and down the Front Range.  They have also made two trips to Scotland.

A firm believer in the immeasurable value of education through the arts, Arlene is excited to be a part of Rocky Ridge Music Center.
