Rocky Ridge 2009 Music Programs
Young Artist Seminar --
YAS (for ages 15-24)
June 30 to August 2, 2009 (5 weeks) - Audition Required
The Young Artist Seminar (YAS) is a 5 week camp for advanced students in the upper High School grades and College. YAS is designed to be an intensive seminar highlighted by instruction from world renowned faculty and visiting artists, orchestral and chamber music experience, voice and chamber choir as well as frequent performance opportunities.
Junior Student Seminar 1 -- JSS1
(for ages 10-15)
June 12 to June 28, 2009 (2.5 weeks) - Audition Required
The Junior Student Seminar - Intensive Program (JSS1) is targeted toward accomplished young musicians (ages 10-15) who already have solid skills. An audition is required for admission. Along with private lessons, orchestra,
theory and choir, the students are encouraged to participate in recreational
activities that range from horseback riding to crafts to hiking in the surrounding
Rocky Mountain National Park. There are performance opportunities every
evening, and the session concludes with a weekend of final concerts which
parents are invited and encouraged to attend.
Junior Student Seminar 2 --
JSS2 (for ages 10-15)
August 4 to August 16, 2009 (2 weeks)
The Junior Student Seminars (JSS2) is a little less intense than the earlier JSS1 program. It is aimed at young musicians (ages 10-15). No audition is required. Along with private lessons, orchestra,
theory and choir, the students are encouraged to participate in recreational

Adult Seminars --
(for adults, ages 18+)
August 19 - August 23, 2009 (length of seminars vary)
Rocky Ridge also offers an "adult" series of seminars including: piano and guitar. These seminars are for adults (18+). All seminars run concurrent and include faculty & group concerts at the end of the session.
