Concerto Competition (YAS & JSS)

YAS Competition Applications Due May 15th.

The Young Artist Seminar Concerto Competition will be held on Saturday, June 14 at Rocky Ridge Music Center. It is open to all students accepted into the full session of the Young Artist Seminar Program. Up to two winners may be selected to perform on either Saturday, June 21 or July 12 orchestra concerts.

Contestants may audition with any solo work with orchestral accompaniment but we recommend a time limit of about 15 minutes. Students who plan to enter the concerto competition must submit repertoire selection by May 15 for approval. RRMC will consider repertoire choice based on availability and cost of music parts, instrumentation, and feasibility given the limited rehearsal schedule. JSS - Concerto Competition

The Junior Student Seminar Concerto Competition will be held the first Friday of each Junior session at Rocky Ridge Music Center.  It is open to all students accepted into JSS.

Contestants may audition with any solo work with orchestral accompaniment but we recommend a time limit of about 10 minutes.  Students who plan to enter the concerto competition must submit repertoire selection by June15 for approval.  RRMC will consider repertoire choice based on availability and cost of music parts, instrumentation, and feasibility given the limited rehearsal schedule.  See below for a partial list of recommended level of concerto repertoire.
