Come hear Rocky Ridge Music Center’s Young Artist Seminar faculty members Claudia Anderson and Tina Su perform this Sunday at 2:00 PM in Minneapolis, Minnesota at the MacPhail Center for Music.

Claudia Anderson is known for her originality and brilliance as a solo and chamber music performer across the U.S. She is a founding member of the innovative flute duo ZAWA! and the summer flute intensive Passion Flute: Foundations for Creative Perfoming (with Angeleita Floyd, Jill Felber, and Nicole Molumby). Currently principal flute with the Waterloo-Cedar Falls Symphony, a guest artist and clinician at many colleges and music series around the country, and on the faculty of Grinnell College, Anderson serves also as flute faculty and Wind Area Head of the Young Artist Seminar at Rocky Ridge Music Center (www.rockyridge.org). Other faculty positions have included the Universities of Iowa and Northern Iowa, Ithaca College and the University of California at Santa Barbara.

A native of Taiwan, Tina Su is Associate Professor of Horn at the University of Northern Iowa and was formerly the third horn with the Taipei Symphony Orchestra in Taiwan. Tina is an active performer and clinician and travels extensively throughout the US and other countries in Europe and Asia. In addition, Tina has been a featured performer on PBS Special, Iowa Public Radio and Broadcasting Corporation of China (Taiwan). Tina received her Doctoral of Musical Arts degree from the State University of New York at Stony Brook, her Master of Music degree from the Juilliard School, and her Bachelor of Music degree and a Performer’s Certificate from the Eastman School of Music. Her principal teachers include William Purvis, Peter Kurau, Verne Reynolds and Si-Yuan Zuang, and she has studied chamber music with the New York Woodwind Quintet and the American Brass Quintet. As an active chamber musician, Tina has performed with the internationally acclaimed Boston Brass and Miró String Quartet. She is a co-founder of the Wonder Horns, a horn quartet based in Taiwan. Tina was a member of the Northwind Quintet and is a member of Northern Brass Quintet. Tina has also performed at the Taiwan Connection Music Festival, the Cedar Valley Chamber Music Festival and is currently serving as Young Artist Seminar horn faculty during the summers at Rocky Ridge Music Center.
